王者之风
当年的花样男子吴建豪自2002年推出首张个人专辑《身体会唱歌》之后，继续在追求音乐的道路上磨炼成长。如今，他终于展露出更具魅力与自信的微笑，向一路追随他的粉丝，向所有爱乐人们交出一份他五年来的成长答卷---第二张个人专辑《V.DUBB》。
努力挣脱偶像枷锁的VanNess，近年来对这张专辑投入了相当的心力，他把這幾年來从事演艺活动中所学所练的各种技艺，集音樂創作、舞蹈、表演、造型、包裝設計、MV…全部投注在這張專輯中，力邀国际顶尖音乐制作人与好友來為這張專輯助陣，每個環節都親力親為，力求呈現出最真實的「Vanness」味道，让大家看到一个具备真才实力富于个性的舞台之王。特别在细细品味专辑第一主打歌 "Never Let You Go"后，你能切实地感到，在他迷人温柔的外表下，蕴藏着的是一颗执着于征服乐坛与乐迷的勃勃雄心，愈渐浓重的王者之风袭面而来。
曲风."Never Let You Go"采用的是目前全美最熱的Urban Groove節奏的舞曲。这倒不是一向时尚的VanNess只追求时新的结果，而是这种中板的舞曲风格，实在很适合他的特质。诚然，快板强节奏的舞曲能迅速调动起人们抖动身体的神精，但简单渲泄情绪的同时，缺乏寻味歌曲本身的体验。相较之下，中板的舞曲更显温存，散发着淡淡的诱惑味道，恰到好处地映衬出VanNess温柔性感极具磁性的声线特点，叫人在惬意地跟随节拍摇摆身体的同时随着歌声深陷入无限的遐想。曲为声相，因此，这首歌是不可以脱离歌声而单独存在的舞曲，而是只有唱出来，且只有VanNess才唱得出味道来的舞曲。整首歌里他的声音才是真正的主宰。
词风.ABC出生的VanNess对中文的运用绝对不能算精妙。因此整张专辑里没有一首歌的歌词及得上方文山那样精深的文字，而是充分发挥了自身简单直白热烈又感性的语言特长，加之他所擅长的英文RAP，将他对待爱情、对亲情、对待歌迷温情、执着又霸气的爱表达得淋漓尽致。就像"Never Let You Go"这样一个的歌名，绝对强权口吻中充满着浓烈的爱意。而歌词中的反复强调的“主旋律”“我要你永遠只作我的baby I never let you go ，不管明天結果是什麼baby I never let you go ”更强化了“只准做我的BABY做我的粉丝”的命令意味。不过这位“狮子王”并没有只靠发号施令来捕获人心，“當我搜尋不到你 一切都沒有意義，我所有的唯一 為了你都可以放棄，別管他們的眼光 別人說的又怎樣，當我站在舞台上，yourlove就夠給我力量......" “就算我飛來飛去 日本香港韓國內地，不管哪裡只是距離 最後還是飛去找你，請別再猶豫 你是我的空氣 沒有你不行，每天過的日子像個盛大生日party......"这些分开的段落歌词和RAP，处处是与歌迷互动中的情节回忆与“没有你不行”的真情告白，这些由酷帅十足的VanNess款款柔情地唱来，带着甜蜜，更具无穷的杀伤力。相信当他唱着"I'll never let you go"时，众多的粉丝们一定会同时在心里应和着，"My king, I'll never go"。
舞风。热舞一向是“身体会唱歌”的吴建豪的特长。比起刚出道时那个大多只是模仿的表演来看，五年后的他己经融合了多种的舞蹈元素，正在打造出了自己的风格。从网站上的介绍上了解到，為了让这次专辑的讓編舞老師了解每一首歌的歌詞內容，Vanness特別逐字翻譯成英文，使編舞老師將歌詞融入舞蹈中，每一個動作、每一個律動，都是隨著歌詞的意義在走，Vanness特別取名為「律動嘻哈舞(BODY SMOOTH HIPHOP)」，可以說Vanness的每個舞步，都在唱歌詞！这使他的热舞不仅律动性感更带着一种“太极”式的舒缓，舞蹈节奏缓急有致，看不出一点燥动的气息，不用过大的排场，己可带出十足的大气。
MV风."Never Let You Go"的MV也是由吴建豪亲自做导演进行制作的。因此整个MV完全体现了他要让人们“听到，看到一个完全真实的吴建豪”的理念。从MV开头的驾车时吐着舌头回应友人来电的引子开始，他就向大家展现了自己ABC的真实生活场景。包括见着漂亮女孩便情不自禁上前搭讪；与朋友一起开派对热舞等坦承地向大家揭示自己，有些使“坏”，有些耍“帅”，还有些小“白”，但始终真实地可爱。但这个MV的制作并非只有这么简单，吴建豪在整个MV情节设计特别在细节的处理上都很有新意，且做得很精致：通过他一下下调高MP3的音量的小动作，极为自然地引出了整首歌的前奏，使观众进入故事情节，让人印象深刻；在开始的小故事情节表述结束后，场景立即转换到了在平台上用劲舞表现歌曲主体思想，VanNess为了更能彰显出自己所喜欢的风格，在两个舞蹈结点时应拍在屏幕上一下闪现了隐约却很嘻哈的图案，突显着他的无限的自由和创意；MV末尾的情节设计也很有趣，VanNess对着代表着情人粉丝的女孩一脸“那就跟我走吧”的神气，转而又化成他最迷人的招牌笑容，最后一个气势满满的转身，高高地举起右臂，以一个似乎志在必得的背影并配上了自己设计的专属LOGO，作为MV最后的画面，似乎就在自信地告诉我们，V式舞台魅力不可抵挡。他就是舞台上的王。

The King’s Style—the most arbitrary but softest words “Never Let You Go”
After last album “Body Will Sing” was published in 2002, Vanness, once was regarded as a flowerlike boy, kept pursuing and growing on the way of music. Now he’s shown us his more charming and confident smile and handed in the key to his five-year-long growth to all the loyal fans and music lovers--- his second solo album “V.DUBB”
Vanness has devoted so much into the album in order to bread away from the shackles of “Idol”. He utilized all the skills which have been learned from the various experience of art activities including music, dance, performance, image, pack design, MV producing and so on. He did almost everything in detail himself and invited the top music producers and friends to help just to show the original “Vanness Style” and let everyone see a “King on Arena” with full power and personality. Especially after tasting the MV of its first recommended song “Never Let You Go”, you can feel exactly that there is a firm ambition to conquer the music area and fans lying in his handsome and soft appearance. The stronger and stronger wind from a king’s style flows to you.
The style of music. “Never Let You Go” uses the recent hottest dance rhyme, Urban Groove, in the U.S.A. It’s not the result that Vanness likes following the fashion wave, but the medium tempo is quite right for his character. As we all know, the strong allegro can high up people shaking their bodies immediately. However, releasing the emotion simply always ignores the song itself. Compared with it, medium tempo is more successful to spread the softness and allure, and it offers the right way to set off Vanness’s magnetic and sexy voice. It makes our bodies sway with the beat while our mind is wandering with the song. The music assists the voice, so the song is not the simple dance music which can be separated from the singer’s voice, and has to be sung, only sung by Vanness, to show its essence. The style of lyrics. Vanness, born and grows in America, obviously cannot utilize some complicated Chinese expressions. Just like the name of the song “Never Let You Go”, it consists of both absolutely fierce and strong love tone. The main part in the lyrics which is repeated again and again –“I only want you to be my baby, I never let you go. No matter how it will be tomorrow, baby , I never let you go…” enforces the bossy attitude—“You can only be my fan forever.” In addition, the “Lion King” doesn’t just depend on command to capture fans’ hearts. “When I can’t search for you, everything seems to be empty, every only one I’ve got can be abandoned for you. Don’t care other’s views and words. When I stand on the stage, your love can give me enough power…”, “Even if I fly here and there, from Japan, Hong Kong, Korea and Mainland, it’s just the distance. I’ll fly to meet you at last. Don’t hesitate any more, you are my air and I can’t live without you. Experiencing every day together with you is like enjoying a great birthday party…”those parts of lyrics and rap fills with the memories and true affections from the details in interaction with fans. Cool Vanness sings them softly and sweetly, and waves out unbelievable attraction. When he sings the song, thousands of fans will chord in hearts, “My king, I’ll never go”.
The style of Dance. Vanness with the body which will sing always does well in hot dance. But it differentiates from his imitating performance 5 years ago, now he has fused the factors from different sorts of dances and been forming his own style. We can learn form the introduction in some websites that Vanness put the lyrics word by word into English to make the dance designer understand the content of the whole song and let each action of the dances can go with the meaning. And he also named it “BODY SMOOTH HIPHOP”. It means that each of his dance steps sings the lyrics. It also brings the smooth style like “Tai Chi” into the dance, and makes the rhyme feels more peaceful and patient. The song can also embody the fully magnificent feeling without grand display.
The Style of MV. Vanness directed and produced the MV by himself so as to keep the idea—to let everyone hear and see a completely true Vanness. From the beginning, Vanness uses the petite detail, responds the call from a friend and sticks his tongue out, to lead to his true ABC life, such as chatting up the pretty girl, being the party animal, dancing hotly and closely with sexy girls. It releases himself blankly to everyone-- a little bad and careless boy who also likes showing cool but so cute because of genuine characteristic. What’s more, Vanness also dealt with some details creatively and delicately. For example, he turns up MP3 little by little to lead out the prelude and into the story-telling naturally. It gives the strong and deep impression to the audience first. The exchange between life situations and hot dances forms the main body of MV. To emphasis his individuality, he flashes some vague and quite hip-hop pictures just when the end of two beats of dance and brings forth another new ideas to the plane expressive. In the end, the MV also goes in a creative way. Vanness shows with an expression which seems to say “OK, come on with me!” at a girl who symbolizes the lover and fans. Then it turns into his registered enchanting smile, and he turns back raises his right arm highly to show the high emotion and self-confidence. At the same moment, his exclusive LOGO exists into the view. No doubt, the last picture means that V style cannot be defensed anyway and he is just the conqueror.
“Never Let You Go” is a typical miniature of V style. It stimulates the powerful wave at the smooth pace, and carries out the fierce order in the soft way. Vanness smiles modestly but continues studying and practicing hard for the better and perfect performance. He tries his best to grasp fans’ hearts and never looses just like an aggressive emperor.
